My mission and passion is to help as many people as I can through fitness. I strive to provide my clients with guidance on how to live and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I believe an exercise program is unique to each individual and should be personalized to fit their lifestyle. I also believe that exercise should be enjoyable so I try to incorporate activities that my clients enjoy into their exercise programs. For me other than strength training I have done a variety of different fun activities including jiu jitsu, indoor climbing, basketball and hiking. I like to look at the overall picture and exercise is only one of those pieces, with my clients I help coach not only the workouts but also nutrition, recovery, and daily lifestyle choices.
I started strength training at a young age because I was a basketball player all through high school and college. I began weight lifting in high school to help me build strength to play the point guard position. I also recently gave birth to my first daughter in October 2024 and was able to train through my entire pregnancy! I did have to have a c-section which was a hard recovery but my prior exercise and exercise during pregnancy helped a lot with my rehab.
I grew up in Washington State but moved to California to play basketball at Whittier College. During my time at Whittier College I studied Kinesiology. I got my first job as a personal trainer in 2011 at 24 Hour Fitness while I was getting my masters degree. I continued to work at 24 Hour Fitness for 9.5 years as a personal trainer and the last 3 years as the Fitness Manager.
My love for sports and the way the human body moves guided me to try out personal training, what I found was how rewarding it felt to help others learn about fitness and see results that could have the potential to change their lives. If I wasn't a personal trainer I was planning to become a teacher and I feel like I get the best of both worlds with this job because I get to teach my clients as I work with them to reach their goals.
I coach each client based on their individual needs and goals. For most that is either weight loss, building muscle, preventing illness or injury, or overall living a healthier lifestyle. The way I do this is by focusing on consistent exercise over time and making adjustments to daily lifestyle choices. I also do like to incorporate flexibility and mobility programming along with strength training. I work with individuals of all fitness levels and ages. My youngest client is 14 years old and my oldest client is 75 years old!
